Head of International Office Fulfills Invitation to INSAN 2024 International Conference to Sign MoU with Various International Universities
The Head of the Center for Cooperation and International Office of UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember attended the invitation to the 3rd International Conference on Islamic Civilization (INSAN 2024), held from August 5 to 7, 2024, at the Santika Premiere Hotel, Bintaro, Banten, Indonesia. This international conference carried the theme "Islam Nusantara: Cultural Legacy for Democracy in Southeast Asia." The conference is a follow-up to the MoU between UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
In addition to being attended by the head of the services center and international office, the Rector of UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember, Prof. Hefni, was also one of the keynote speakers at INSAN 2024, delivering his speech online. Several lecturers from UIN KHAS Jember also attended the conference as presenters, including Dr. Amin Fadillah, M.A., and Muhammad Faiz, M.A. from FUAH.
The INSAN 2024 International Conference was opened by the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D. In his opening remarks, the Rector of UIN Jakarta highlighted the uniqueness of Islam Nusantara and the importance of sharing it with the world. Prof. Jajat Burhanuddin, M.A., as the Chair of INSAN 2024, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration and cooperation among the participating universities and countries. The Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., CIQnR, hoped that INSAN would be followed up with a focus on research and academic collaboration MoUs, fostering synergy in knowledge development and democracy in Southeast Asia.
A significant moment in the opening of INSAN 2024 was the signing of an MoU between UIN KHAS Jember, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universitas Al-Amien Prenduan, and UNISSA Brunei Darussalam. The head of the International Office of UIN KHAS Jember, Dr. Fathor Rosyid, S.Sos., M.Si., stated, "The signing of this MoU continues the cooperation that has been achieved and can become a meeting point for the development of research on Islam Nusantara with various topics and themes." He hopes that by continuing this collaboration, the relationship between universities in Southeast Asia will be strengthened and they can assist each other in fortifying their institutions. Additionally, a Cooperation Agreement between FUAH Jember and FAH Jakarta, derived from the signed MoU, was also signed.
After the signing of the MoUs, the INSAN 2024 international conference activities continued. The conference concluded with the awarding of prizes to the winners of the international speech, poster, article, and singing competitions, which were part of the event. The activities concluded on the evening of August 7, 2024, local time.
