Rector Signs MOU with National Mass Media, Strengthens Journalistic Collaboration
International Office – Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq State Islamic University (UIN KHAS) Jember organized a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing event with several national mass media outlets on Thursday, July 4, 2024. The event took place at the auditorium of the UIN KHAS Jember Rectorate.
This initiative aims to continue existing collaborations and forge new partnerships with various national media, particularly in 2024. The event was attended and inaugurated by Prof. Hefni, Rector of UIN KHAS Jember.
The leadership and staff of UIN KHAS Jember, along with representatives from several media outlets, were present at the event. Among the invited media representatives were Jember TV, Memotimur.id, Beranda.com, Frensia.id, Narasinews, FTV Jember, Jawa Pos Radar Jember, Prosalina FM, Bangsapedia.com, Suara Jatim Post, Times Indonesia, K Radio FM, Suara Indonesia, Jawa Pos Media Televisi, Jurnalbangsa, Bangsaonline, and Portaljawatimur.com.
Dr. Fathor Rosyid, S.Sos., M.Si., Head of the Center for Cooperation and International Office, stated in his speech that mass media is a crucial partner for UIN KHAS Jember, particularly in disseminating information to the public. Numerous collaborative opportunities exist, such as news publication, student internships and community service programs, provision of resource persons, and more. This opportunity should be leveraged together within a collaborative space.
Dr. Moh. Nor Afandi, M.Pd.I., Head of the Center for Information, Data, and Survey, emphasized that partnership with the mass media is mutually beneficial. UIN requires information dissemination to the public, while the media needs content to broadcast. Therefore, it is a shared responsibility to fulfill these duties and benefit from this cooperation. UIN KHAS Jember needs the help of media to indicate institutional performance, assist in publication, and strengthen campus social media, ensuring that the public receives accurate information about UIN KHAS Jember.
Dr. Khoirul Faizin, M.Ag., Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, expressed his delight with the media's willingness to attend and accept the cooperation proposal. He hopes that UIN KHAS Jember and the media can work together in the future to ensure that the university's achievements, accomplishments, and related information are well-publicized both locally and nationally, thereby increasing public awareness of UIN KHAS Jember.
In his speech, Prof. Hefni, Rector of UIN KHAS Jember, expressed his pleasure at the agreement of this MOU. He hopes this initiative will benefit both parties. At the end of his speech, Prof. Hefni signed the MOU with the attending media representatives.
