Strengthening Regional Higher Education Collaboration, UIN KHAS Jember Signs MoU with Raden Abdullah Yaqin Islamic University
The Center for Cooperation and International Office of Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq State Islamic University (UIN KHAS) Jember, led by Dr. Fathor Rosyid, S.Sos., M.Si., and Dr. Rusydi Baya'gub, M.Pd.I., head of the career development unit, welcomed the Chairman of Raden Abdullah Yaqin Islamic University (STAI RAYA) Mlokorejo Jember, Muhyidin, S.Hum., M.Pd., at the international office on the second floor of the UIN KHAS Jember rectorate building on Thursday, August 1 2024. This meeting aimed to finalize the signing of the MoU between UIN KHAS Jember and STAI RAYA Jember, which had been periodically reviewed together.
The MoU signed by the Rector of UIN KHAS Jember and the Chairman of STAI RAYA is an understanding between the two institutions to jointly carry out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The agreed areas of collaboration include education, research, community service, academic activities such as seminars, conferences, and workshops, scholarship provision, assistance from lecturers and experts, comparative studies, and peer review exchange for journal publication.

In his remarks, Dr. Fathor Rosyid, S.Sos., M.Si., head of the center for cooperation and international office, stated that collaboration between higher education institutions is essential for advancing the institutions. He emphasized that universities in Jember are mutual partners who must collaborate to progress together. He conveyed a message from Rector Prof. Hefni, who stated that sister universities should not compete against each other because the true enemies are ignorance and backwardness, which all educational institutions must combat together.
Muhyidin, S.Hum., M.Pd., Chairman of STAI RAYA, expressed his hope that the cooperation between the two institutions could be immediately implemented. As an alumnus of UIN KHAS Jember, he was pleased with the signing of the MoU, formally documenting the collaboration plans that had been under discussion and allowing for their immediate execution and follow-up.
