UIN KHAS Jember Welcomes EducationUSA Visit from U.S. Embassy to Explore Higher Education Collaboration
International Office - On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq State Islamic University (UIN KHAS) Jember, through its Center for Collaboration Services and International Office, welcomed a visit from EducationUSA, a representative of the United States Embassy in Indonesia. The purpose of the visit was to discuss information related to higher education in the United States and to initiate steps towards establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties.
EducationUSA, represented by Zaki M. Zulkarnain from the U.S. Embassy, was warmly received by Dr. Achmad Fathor Rosyid, S.Sos., M.Si., head of the Center for Collaboration Services and International Office, along with his team. Mr. Zaki’s visit aimed to conduct an information session on higher education opportunities in the United States and to provide details about the services offered by EducationUSA to students, faculty, and educational staff in Indonesia.
EducationUSA is a network fully supported by the U.S. Department of State, committed to providing accurate, comprehensive, reliable, and unbiased information on higher education in the United States. Through its services, EducationUSA offers consultations on university selection, the application process, financial aid or scholarships, seminars and workshops, education fairs, and a variety of other resources that help students, faculty, and educational professionals in pursuing academic opportunities in the United States.
The communication session was conducted nicely, with Mr. Zaki providing a brief overview of the U.S. higher education system, application procedures, requirements, scholarship opportunities, and services available through EducationUSA.
Dr. Achmad Fathor Rosyid warmly welcomed the EducationUSA delegation from the U.S. Embassy at UIN KHAS Jember. Dr. Fathor expressed his readiness to pursue various potential collaborative initiatives between EducationUSA and UIN KHAS Jember, such as promoting scholarship opportunities, organizing conferences and seminars, facilitating student and faculty exchanges, conducting training programs, and more. He also extended greetings to the leadership of EducationUSA and the U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia on behalf of the Rector of UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember, expressing hopes for the swift realization of a partnership between UIN KHAS Jember and EducationUSA, recognizing the significant opportunities this collaboration could offer (By NEA, Editor: MA/MDA).
